Andrea Stewart

Born in Lancing West Sussex, Andrea Stewart (née ‘Tommy’) drew and painted relentlessly up until the age of 17. What followed was a gap of 37 years before Andrea picked up her paint brushes again... But that’s another story. At the age of 18, she went on to study Design and Communication at Ravensbourne College of Art & Design. Then a Master of Arts Degree, at The Central School, London specialising in Educational Material for wildlife conservation. After graduating, she worked as a designer in London, before setting up a design agency in the late 1980’s.

After the successful sale of her London agency, Andrea, husband Andrew, son Loui and four cats settled in Suffolk, at a medieval hall house. In time she set-up an award-winning self catering business and a home and garden shop, located in a converted windmill. After 15 years at the hall house, a move provided time and space to reflect on where she’d been and where she wanted to go. This turned out to be a bridge that connected her twin passions, that of painting and her love of wildlife and the natural world.

With a fierce eye for detail, Andrea is relentless in her pursuit to capture the unique personality and character of the wildlife she paints in acrylic on canvas. She now supports various wildlife and environmental charities through the sale of her work, to assist people who have made it their mission to stop the degradation of the planet's natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature.
